One Chart Dig: May 3, 1975

For various reasons, today’s planned post won’t be here. But here’s a Tuesday diversion: “I Wanna Dance Wit’ Choo (Doo Dat Dance), Pt. 1” by Disco Tex & The Sex-O-Letts was at No. 58 in the Billboard Hot 100 released on May 3, 1975, thirty-six years ago today.  The group was composed of studio musicians assembled by famed producer Bob Crewe, and the lead vocals were handled by Joseph Montanez, who was billed as Sir Monti Rock III. The record eventually got to No. 23.

I’ll be back briefly tomorrow, and Thursday, I’ll take a look at another in the growing list of performers whose music I should have included in my Ultimate Jukebox.
